Fitting Ceremony at GW Headquarters Extends Best Wishes on Outgoing Senior Officer

Major General Aruna Muhandiram of the Gemunu Watch (GW) who just retired from the Army was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour on Friday (4) when he arrived at the GW Regimental Headquarters at Kuruwita on the eve of his elevation to the rank of Major General.

Major General Muhandiram after completion of 33 years of service retired from the Army on 5th January 2019 and held a number of key appointments including the Director of Operations at the Army Headquarters.

Upon his arrival at Kuruwita, Brigadier K Premathilake, Centre Commandant welcomed him and invited to review the Guard Turnout at the entrance and receive the salute in the parade in conformity with military traditions. A few minutes later, he saluted the memory of fallen GW War Heroes at the monument.

A lunch arrangement at the Officers’ Mess brought the felicitation cum the farewell ceremony for Major General Muhandiram to end. After a brief address made by the outgoing senior Officer, Major General Aruna Jayasekara, Colonel of the Regiment, GW presented a memento to him as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation. buy shoes | Sneakers
