The first working day at the Office of Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) was marked on a low-profile this morning (18) at the BMICH premises where General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army attended, together with tri-service Officers and Police Officers working there.
After the arrival of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Major General Ajith Dissanayake, Chief of Staff at the OCDS welcomed the Chief Guest and all Officers on the first working day of the New Year.
A traditional tea table with sweet meats symbolized the New Year spirits in the office complex and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva afterwards extended best wishes to all of them, awarding special gifts on account of the New Year.
General Shavendra Silva during refreshments took time off to speak to All Rankers present at the event and shared a couple of views with them on matters of professional interest.
Major General Ajith Dissanayake, Chief of Staff - OCDS, Major General A.C Lamahewa, Director General General Staff - OCDS, Commodore Pujitha Sugathapala, Director General Naval and Air, Mr Sunil Dissanayake, Director Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Staffers participated in the day’s event.
