First Training Course at CAVT for 2018 Ends

The Centre for Army Vocational Training (CAVT) at Kalaoya, Saliyawewa completed the basic 9-day long training for one more batch of 380 potential Army retirees on Friday (12) as the first Course in 2018.

The CAVT with the support of resource personnel of the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority (SLVTA) organizes such courses, preparing those Army attendees to follow the well-recognized National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level - 3 Examination upon their retirement.

The 9 day-long basic course offered training to the attendees in wiring, electricity, plumbing, masonry, software, mobile phone repairing, TV and radio-repairing, mechanical repairs, welding, aluminum work, painting, etc and the course was conducted during 4-12 January, 2017 under the supervision of Brigadier Randula Hathnagoda, Commandant, CAVT.

The course also incorporated training in civil affairs, social roles and several other areas of importance before course attendees took leave of one another.

Lieutenant Colonel Shasika Perera, Commanding Officer, CAVT and several Officers attended the closing ceremony.
