First Phase of the Partially Complete House Scheme for War Heroes Commence Today


The Ministry of Defence has launched a new housing project to assist war heroes who have partly built their houses with financial difficulties to accomplish their aspirations and to uplift the living standard of their families. This project is being conducted under the guidance and close supervision of Secretary Defence Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Chairperson of the Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa.

A ceremony was held today (21st November) at the Defence services collage to mark the first such donations to 370 selected personal from the tri forces. Under this scheme engine riel materials will be provide for each selected individual worth seven hundred and fifty thousand Rupees.

Speaking at the ceremony secretary defence said that looking after welfare of war heroes is considered as one of my priorities, I instruct to find the neediest armed personnel first for this scheme and we will continue this welfare project further.

Additional Secretary (Defence) Mr. Hettiarachchi, Chief of Defence staff and tri-forces commanders, Chairperson of the Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa.
