Fourteen young Tamil employees working at the Army-managed Vellankulam farm in Kilinochchi enjoyed a field trip organized by the 6 Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) to the south for the first time in their lives.
With the intention of exposing those employees to other areas away from their residential region, the 6 SLAGSC during May 16 - 17 showed them Mihintale, Somawathiya and Polonnaruwa before they arrived at the Kandakadu Army farm for a musical evening.
Seen as a move to further strengthen ties of friendship, understanding and reconciliation, these young picnic-goers enjoyed the programme, organized on the directions of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi during those two days.
