KEKIRAWA RANAVIRUGAMA DECLARED OPEN
Next of kin of dead War Heroes, differently-able soldiers and War Heroes of the Sri Lanka Army were recently gifted with twenty three newly built houses erected at the Ranaviru village in Kekirawa and seventy four blocks of land.
This new Ranaviru village complex, equipped with all facilities was handed over to their recipients by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lt. General L.P.Balagalle who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The Ranaviru Seva Authority (RSA) has provided a part of these allocations for this worthy cause from Ranaviru Lottery funds while the Army spent nearly Rs. 100 lakhs for construction of houses. The complex comprises a community hall and several other facilities such as pipe-born water, tarred by lanes, etc.
Thirteen of these houses went to next of kin of dead soldiers and the rest were shared among disable soldiers affected by war.
A representative gathering of state officials including Divisional Secretary for Anuradhapura, Assistant Divisional Secretary for Kekirawa were present at the opening ceremony, headed by Lt. Gen Balagalle.
