Facility for MSM Inmates for Spiritual Development Opened

Differently-able War Heroes at Mihindu Seth Medura (MSM), Attidiya where some 41 rehabilitees are under recuperation were further facilitated by way of constructing a new meditation hall in the premises.

The MSM, managed by the Army invited Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army to inaugurate the construction this morning (18).

Major General S.K Thirunavukarasu, Director General Rehabilitation and MSM Commandant, Colonel N.P.A Gunawardane extended the invitation to this effect.

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake amidst Pirith chanting unveiled a plaque and opened the new meditation hall where some 60 meditation practitioners can be accommodated when such programmes get underway.

A Buddha statue, installed inside the meditation hall was also vested in the inmates at the same occasion. The Commander placed a tray of flowers and offered his respects to the Buddha statue at same time.

A few minutes later, the Commander was invited to plant a 'Sal' sapling as a symbol of memory of this visit to the premises. During refreshments, the Commander spoke to the inmates under rehabilitation and shared a couple of views with them.

Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General of Army Health Services, Major General Shavendra Silva, Adjutant General, Major General Jagath Gunawardena, Master General Ordnance, Major General Ajith Wijesinghe, Military Secretary, Major General K.P Sumanapala, Director General Medical Services, Major General S.K Thirunavukarasu, Director General Rehabilitation, Senior Officers and Officers were present during the day's events.
