37 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (01). Those 37 individuals were, 03 from India (Indian Civil Sea Marshals) at Hikkaduwa Lanka Super Coral Hotel QC, two from UAE in quarantine at Mullaittivu Air Force QC, one from Doha, Qatar at Hotel Jetwing QC, 04 from Qatar at Periyakadu QC and twenty seven (27) persons from Qatar at Viddaththapalai QC. By 6.00 am this morning (01), states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
The total detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts stands at 639 of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.
The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 60 passengers, the flight UL 230 from Kuwait with 216 passengers, the flight UL 218 with one passenger from Doha Quarter, the flight 226 with 265 passengers from Dubai, the flight 6E 9034 from Chennai with seven passengers and the flight UL 178 from Hyderbad with 178 passengers are expected in Colombo and all of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.
Within the day (01), 187 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 06 persons are from Kalpitiya Ruwala QC, 98 persons from Hotel Farm Garden QC, 04 persons from Mt Lavinia Hotel QC and 79 persons from Forest Rock Garden QC.
Likewise, 35,142 individuals have been sent back home after quarantining by this morning (01). 7,576 persons in 71 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (31), 2020 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 226,111.
Meanwhile, 08 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (01). Three of them were expatriates in quarantine and other 05 individuals were found to have associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts. Accordingly, 624 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery. A total of 15 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment. Other than detainees, associates and expatriates and foreigners, not a single COVID-19 positive case was reported from elsewhere in the country.
