Exercise 'Mithra Shakti' Rehearsed in Ampara Town

The bilateral Exercise 'Mithra Shakti' now underway at Ampara Army Training School (ATS) with participation of both Indian Army and Sri Lankan Army troops had its joint practical training sessions on Thursday (7) in the heart of Ampara Town.

Training in conduct of road blocks, crowd dispersal, anti MT ambushes, urban patrols continued during this Exercise that began on 3rd October 2021 after the arrival of Indian Army troops in Sri Lanka.

With the blessings of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva, General Officer Commanding, 53 Division, Major General Nishantha Manage functions as the Director, Exercise 'Mithra Shakti'.

The latest military Exercise 'Mithra Shakti' is expected to further promote existing bilateral understanding and cooperation between both military outfits. A total of 120 Indian Army troops and an equal number of troops are participating in the current Exercise.
