Army troops of the Security Forces in Jaffna on Friday (28) apprehended an ex- LTTE Sea Tiger member with a haul of explosives, inclusive of a powerful claymore bomb of 2 kg in weight, kept buried in his fishing jetty area in Nagar Kovil, Jaffna.
On information received by Military Intelligence troops, a raid was conducted on the place and arrested the ex-Sea Tiger, together with the 2 kg heavy claymore bomb, 14 rounds of T-56 ammunition, 45 pistol rounds, one round of 12.7 ammunition and a two-meter long detonator thread.
The suspect with explosives was handed over to the Jaffna Police Terrorist Investigation Unit for further investigations.
