The former LTTE woman cadre of the so called ‘Malathi’ Brigade of LTTE terrorists, the internationally-banned terror outfit was one among beneficiaries of receiving an Army-built new house in Wallipuram, Jaffna, thanks to the initiatives of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J).
In response to the SFHQ-J, the South-based well-known philanthropist, Mr Kumara Weerasuriya and his team of friends promised to provide sponsorship for its erection by way of all raw materials on a request, referred to him by Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna several days ago.
Mrs Shivaranjan Nandani who was an ex-woman cadre among LTTE terrorists was rehabilitated and living a miserable life without proper home for her family when her plight was brought to the notice of the Jaffna Commander.
16 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops of the 551 Brigade under the 55 Division, commanded by Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, General Officer Commanding would provide technical expertise and manpower free of charge for construction of her new house at Wallipuram, giving new rays of hope to her future life.
On Monday (20), Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, SF-J laid the foundation-stone for construction of this proposed new house at Wallipuram in the presence of representing donors, 55 Division General Officer Commanding, 551 Brigade Commander, Senior Officers, troops and well-wishers.
