Under the guidance of the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade and supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 16th Gajaba Regiment, a beach cleaning programme was successfully conducted on 24 November 2024 at the Kalpitiya Ilanthadiya coastal area.
This initiative was organized to contribute the environmental preservation, promote community awareness about the importance of maintaining clean coastal regions, and foster a sense of environmental responsibility among the troops and the local community.
Three Officers and 30 Other Ranks from the 16th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment participated in this community project.
