England’s Taekwondo Experts Support Army Players

The Sri Lanka Army Taekwondo Committee (SLATC) in collaboration with Taekwondo experts from England organized a practical training session for its players on Tuesday (31 Jan) at the Army Physical Training School, Panagoda.

The delegation of trainers led by Mr Sumner Derek Alan included 4 instructors and 5 ladies who voluntarily arrived in Sri Lanka in order to support the Sri Lanka Army’s efforts towards promotion of Taekwondo as a martial art.

40 Black Belt Instructors, representing all regiments, 24 male players and 11 female players of the Army participated in the training session.

This was initiated under the guidance of Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, Chairman, SLATC, and Brigadier Nalin Bandaranayake, Director, Directorate of Sports who also attended the training programme and exchanged greetings with the foreign delegation.
