Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc assumed duties as the 4th General Officer Commanding of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division on Thursday (8 June).
In accordance with military traditions, the incoming General Officer Commanding was welcomed in a Guard Turnout and a subsequent Guard of Honour before he took over duties amidst religious observances.
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding addressed the troops and extended his gratitude to all Officers and men for the warm welcome accorded to him. He also made a note of the contribution, hitherto made by former Commanders of the Engineer Division for the uplift of the Division and thanked them for their efforts.
He also paid special tribute to the valiant sapper Officers and men who sacrificed their lives for our motherland. During the address, he emphasized the importance of dedication, commitment, team work and discipline when working towards the achievement of organizational goals.
Commander, General Engineering Brigade, Brigadier T.C Peiris RSP USP, Commander (overlooking) Plant Engineer Brigade, Colonel H.S.K Jayasinghe RSP, Deputy Center Commandant, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and divisional staff participated in the event.
