Engineer Division GOC Meets 7 Field Engineer Regiment Troops

Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Engineer Division made his maiden visit to the 7 Field Engineer Regiment, Batuoya, Minneriya on Monday (26 June) as part of his familiarization programme.

The GOC was welcomed on arrival by the Commanding Officer, Major J.C Mapatuna, all Officers and Other ranks of the 7 Field Engineer Regiment. A Guard Turnout on his arrival at the entrance greeted him. A mango sapling was also planted by the visitor in the camp premises as a gesture of memory. Afterwards, the Commanding Officer briefed him on the progress of ongoing projects, infrastructure development, training of Officers and soldiers, welfare of the soldiers, and combat readiness.

Thereafter, the GOC addressed all ranks by recalling past memories in the Regiment and emphasized the importance of team work, commitment and self-discipline of all individuals to uplift the standards of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

He also visited reconstruction and development taking place at Galewela playground and reviewed its progress.
