Emergency Fire Rehearsal Conducted at Kerawalapitiya Oil Terminal

An emergency fire response rehearsal was successfully conducted at the Kerawalapitiya Petroleum Storage Terminals on 13 December 2024, under the guidance of Brigadier R.R De S Dharmawickrema RSP, Commander of the 141 Infantry Brigade. The event was a joint effort by the troops of the 141 Infantry Brigade and officials from the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL).

The objective of the rehearsal was to enhance inter-agency coordination and preparedness for effective fire emergency responses at the oil terminal, ensuring a more efficient collective response capability.

The exercise was conducted with the participation of 90 personnel from the 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, C Squadron – 1st Regiment of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, and fire response teams from the Disaster Management Center - Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery, Port Authority, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Navy, Gampaha and Colombo Fire Brigades, and the CPSTL Fire Section.
