In order to be updated for a well-integrated disaster mitigation mechanism, the second workshop with responsible state officials had one more meeting at the 571 Brigade HQ in Kilinochchi on the directions of the General Officer Commanding of the 57 Division Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa on Monday (23).
The workshop closely reviewed the progress of preparation processes for the flood situation, expected during the forthcoming North East monsoon season. Further, the field commanders of the 57 Division were given the opportunity to discuss the practical undefined areas when engaging in disaster mitigation and reliefs operations.
The General Officer Commanding of 57 Division, all Brigade Commanders, Colonel General Staff, all Civil Affairs Officers, and all Battalion Commanders participated in the sessions.
