Educational Accessories Given to 150 More Students of Low Income Families

150 school children from low income families in Vishvamadu area in Kilinochchi received free school accessories and uniforms during a simple ceremony on Sunday (11) at the Vishvamadu Central College, following an initiative taken by the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on the instructions of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN).

The donor, Mr Krishnasamy Kanagarajah, the founder of ‘Venture Group’ and the Managing Director of Venture Mark International (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, together with Mr Dushyanth, the administrative Director of US Hotel sponsored the donation on a request made by the Commander, SF-KLN.

Before this charity programme got underway, the Commander, SF-KLN declared open a water purification system for school children which was donated by Mr. V Manoharan, Dr. Shiva Konation and Mr. K Rathya.

This water purification system was established in the school premises by the troops of 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the 572 Brigade. After that, those 150 recipients attended the brief ceremony, rich with entertaining cultural features and received those educational accessories from the Commander, SF-KLN and other invitees. All the children attending the ceremony were given refreshments on the same occasion by the troops of the 572 Brigade.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, attended the distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest with Mr. Krishnasamy Kanagarajah, the donor.

Brigade Commander, 572 Brigade, Colonel Lal Wijethunga organized this charity programme.

Several senior officers, Principals and teachers in the area, parents and students took part in the arrangement.
