Troops serving the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) symbolically commenced their first working day 2014. Major General Lal Perera, Commander, SFHQ-E on January (1) raised the National flag, followed by the reading of the State Service Commitment pledge and the New Year Message 2014 of Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army.
Meanwhile, Commander, SFHQ – E visited the Army Ward at Polonnaruwa District Hospital and distributed gift parcels among patients. Day’s events ended after a Bodhi Puja, held at the temple at SFHQ –E.
