A blood donation campaign, organized by the troops serving under the Security Forces Headquarters –East (SFHQ – E) was held at the Polonnaruwa Teaching Hospital on Thursday (7) in response to a need of the blood bank at the Polonnaruwa Teaching Hospital.
Major General M.H.P Mihindukulasuriya, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (FMA)-East and several senior officers were present at the inaugural occasion of the event.
Officers and other ranks of the 5 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) took initiatives to make this task a success. More than 400 Army personnel contributed to this humanitarian need.
