East Troops Attend Social Service Projects


Two more Shramadana campaigns, attended by 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) and 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops serving the 221 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) during October 22 - 23.

6 SLAC troops first mended the protective fence at Mahadivulwewa School and ensured the security for students on Wednesday (22). Similarly, 6 VIR troops cleaned up the premises surrounding the construction site at Viwekananda School in Kuchchaweli.  

In addition, 28 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of 241 Brigade and 12 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops of the 231 Brigade conducted two separate awareness programmes at Akkareipattu base hospital by cleaning the premises against threats of Dengue and another one on traffic accidents respectively for students at Manchenthuduva Bharathi Vidyalaya.

Similarly, 3 SLNG troops provided drinking water bottles to the drought-affected people at Puthur and Koraleipattu North on Saturday (25). The donation of 1464 water bottles of 5 litre each benefited more than 366 families.

Meanwhile, 241 Brigade troops organized a special Pooja at Akkaraipattu Pulleyar Kovil on account of Deepavali which fell on October 22, 2014.
