East Commander Warms One More Home, Built for a Needy Family in Batticaloa

One more 23 Division-constructed house with the support of a philanthropist was vested in a needy family in Sippimadu, Unnacchhi by the Security Force Headquarters-East on Tuesday (12) in Batticaloa.

The house, built by 4 Gemunu Watch troops under the 231 Brigade was for Mr M.M.S.T Kumara Nandasena. A brief warming ceremony, headed by the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Channa Weerasuriya formally left the house in the custodianship of the deserving family as one more community project of the SFHQ-East.

The Cardiac Surgeon Dr Muditha Lansakara, following initiatives taken by the Commander, Security Forces-East sponsored the entire project as troops have undertaken the responsibility of erecting it with their manpower and technical expertise.

The General Officer Commanding, 23 Division, Major General Nalin Koswatta, Commander, 231 Brigade, Brigadier Dulipa Bandara, Commanding Officer, 4 Gemunu Watch, Major Menaka Gunarathna, troops and a gathering of civilians living in the area joined the inaugural warming.
