East Commander Makes Familiarization Visits

Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the recently-appointed Commander, Security Forces East (SF-E) made his formal maiden visits to under command Brigades and Battalions of the 22 Infantry Division HQ during 5- 6 January.

During his visits, he met troops in the 221,222 and 223 Infantry Brigades, 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 5 (V) Sri Lanka Artillery.

Each Brigade and Battalion warmly welcomed the visiting East Commander. Guard Turnouts at respective formations saluted him.

Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders briefed the visiting Commander on their performing tasks and role in their respective areas. Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi at each location addressed the troops and expressed his vision and highlighted the importance of professional training while maintaining the highest standards of discipline.

Towards the end of his visits, he made complimentary notes in their Visitors' Books.

Major General Saliya Amunugama, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, respective Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers and Officers were associated with those visits.
