Troops of 222, 223 and 224 Brigades under Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E) recently conducted several humanitarian projects in order to help civilians with economic constraints.
3 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under 223 Brigade provided lunch for 40 kids at ‘Sathyapalar pre-school’ in Koralipattu South on 11 November.
Similarly, 50 dry ration packs to pregnant women in Hingurakgoda, 55 dry ration packs to pregnant women in Thissapura and Sinnakulam areas, 90 lunch packs to children and pregnant women in Muttur, Kantale area, and 70 more dry ration packs among villagers in Punany area were distributed following arrangements made by troops.
Meanwhile, with the sponsorship of Ven Thalagala Thero of Vipassana Meditation Centre, Ven Swarna Thero from Nepal, Ven Horana Yasassi Thero of Polonnanaru Raja Maha Viharaya of Sri Siddhartha Foundation, together with 6 other donors from Singapore and Thailand, 9 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops serving the 223 Brigade gave away 70 parcels of dry-rations among civilians living around Punany Pancha Maha Temple in the area.
On the same day troops of 24 SLNG under 233 Brigade of 23 Division provided fresh milk and lunch to over 50 pregnant mothers in the area during an arrangement at Sinhapura Medical Clinic.
