East Based Troops Kick Off More Community Projects

Troops of 22, 23 and 24 Divisions under the Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E) carried out many more community projects during the past week in SFHQ-E areas.

12 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops conducted an eye clinic for students in Pothuwil, Thirukkovil and Aladiwembu areas together with the Prof. Nandadasa Kodagoda Foundation, Dharama Vijaya Foundation and AHH (A Helping Hand) organization at Thirukkovil School, Ampara on Friday (12).

On the same day 8 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops provided cool drinks as refreshments for the devotees at Kannankudha Kovil.

Troops of 12 Gajaba Regiment (GR) meanwhile conducted a ‘Sharmadana’ campaign to clean the surroundings of Mangalarama temple, Batticaloa and organized a Dengue prevention campaign to clear surroundings at Kaththankudi town and coastal areas on Wednesday (15).

On Wednesday (15), troops of 2 GR distributed drinking water for 60 drought-hit families in Lingapuram Village and troops of the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) conducted a ‘Sharmadana’ campaign to clean the surroundings of the home for disable war heroes in Somapura Village.
