A Guard Turn Out and a subsequent Guard of Honour at the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ- C) premises on 29 June during a formal farewell saluted the retiring Major General W.R.M.M Rathnayake RWP RSP ndu, Commander, Security Forces-Central in accordance with military traditions.
Gajaba Regiment troops presented the Guard of Honour salute at the parade square at SFHQ- C to bid farewell to the outgoing Commander SFHQ-C who at first received the salute in the Guard Turnout upon his arrival.
After a while, Major General W.R.M.M Rathnayake RWP RSP ndu addressed the troops and thanked all ranks for their generous assistance and support, extended to him during his tenure. Subsequently, he was invited to an all rank tea where he cordially interacted with all ranks, present there.
Towards the end of the days’ event, the Commander, SFHQ-C was awarded mementos as tokens of appreciation.
General Officer Commanding of 11 and 12 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
