With the intention of promoting religious coexistence among different communities Security Force Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) held a special Christmas ceremony headed by Major General L. B. R. Mark, Commamder SFHQ - MLT as the Chief Guest on Wednesday (25). The Programme was attended by Mullatitivu District Secretary together with Government Officials in the area, Political Leaders and a large gathering of civilians.
Midnight Mass at Kapapilavu catholic church was attended a large gathering of devotees from Kepapilavu area. All the arrangements such as Christmas Carols and gifts distribution by Santa Clause were conducted with the sponsorship of 59 Division under SFHQ-MLT.
On the same day, 64 Division of SFHQ-MLT organized a musical show at Oddusudan to mark Christmas. Troops offered snakes, soft drinks and Christmas gifts to all the devotees including elders and kids who attended the midnight mass at 64 and 643 Brigade areas.
Meanwhile, 68 Division as its Christmas arrangement lit the Iranapalai St. Anthony’s church premises and nearby places. All the devotees were treated by the troops and Santa Clause gave away gifts among kids.
Officers and soldiers of 681 Brigade arranged a brief event to distribute school items among 150 students in the area. It followed a musical show organized at the ground, west of Mullivaikkal.
Members of 682 Brigade deployed in Puthukkuddiyirippu meanwhile organized refreshments for all devotees who participated in services in Sebamalai ‘Jebavidu’ church. Afterwards, 150 gift parcels including toys were given away among the kids who were accompanied to the event.
683 Brigade troops in the meantime arranged Christmas carols and gift donations to the inhabitants of Mullivaikkal area.
