As of this morning (27), 997 more COVID-19 positive cases have been reported during last 24 hours. Of them, the majority (173) was from Colombo district, including 18 from Dehiwala, 17 from Hanwella, 13 from Mirihana, Mulleriyawa areas, 10 from Wellawatta and others from different areas, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
Moreover, 170 positive cases reported from Gampaha District included 17 from Mirigama, 16 From Divulapitiya, 15 from Mallawagedara, 13 from Nittambuwa areas and the rest from different areas in the district.
Similarly, 92 more cases were reported from Galle District in the past 24 hours. Of them, 37 cases were from Poddala, 34 from Rathgama, and 5 cases from Yakkalamulla areas. Other positive cases were from elsewhere in the district.
Accordingly, 562 cases reported from other districts of the country were as follows: 86 from Monaragala, 74 from Kalutara, 66 from Matale, 59 from Trincomalee, 49 from Kurunegala, 32 from Matara, 25 from Badulla, 22 each from Puttalam and Nuwara Eliya, 17 from Jaffna, 16 from Kegalle, 15 from Anuradhapura, 11 from Vavuniya, 7 from Kandy and Ampara districts, 3 from Batticaloa, 2 from Mannar, 1 each from Ratnapura, Kilinochchi, Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts.
