Distribution of Relief Items, Exposition of Relics & Poson Programmes Dominate in the SFHQ-C Areas

Troops in 121 Brigade serving the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) coordinated the distribution of   school accessories and dry ration packs during brief ceremonies, held on Friday (17) at Medagama Yakunawa School and at the office of Medagama Medical Officer of Heath (MOH) in Moneragala with sponsorships extended by Ven. Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thero and Colombo Television Institute.

On Friday (17), 50 parcels of school accessories, each worth of Rs 5000 were distributed among school children at Medagama Yakunawa School, by Ven. Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thero and Colombo Television Institute during a brief ceremony organized by the troops at first.  

On the same day, dry rations, worth Rs.  1 lakh donated by the same donors were distributed among expectant mothers during a brief ceremony held at the MOH office, Medagma Moneragala. Officers, other ranks and  a large gathering  of civilians  participated in the event.

Meanwhile, the same troops conducted a Dansel (free offer of refreshments) for the devotees who arrived to pay respect to the most sacred relics of the Lord Buddha, brought down from Taxila, Pakistan. The exposure of relics took place in Bukkirigolla Rajamaha Viharaya, in Moneragala  during 10-12 June 2106. More than 50 Army members took part in those programmes.

Meanwhile, SFHQ-C troops at Diyatalawa and 121 Brigade Headquarters troops of the same SFHQ-C on account of Poson Poya Day conducted separate Bodhi Pooja meritorious arrangements at Bodhikandamaluwa Temple in Diyatalawa and at Katugahagalge Rajamaha Viharaya in Badalkumbura Divisional Secretariat on Sunday (19).

Ven. Mapakada Premarathana Thero conducted the Pinkama at Katugahagalge Rajamaha Viharaya and Ven. Panama Ananda Thero resident monk at Diyatalawa Galkanda temple delivered the Dhamma sermon in a Pinkama organized, at Diyatalawa.

Brigadier General Staff Brigadier K.M.D.A.A. De Silva and 121 Brigade Commander Colonel K.A.N.N Koswatte separately attended those Poson programmes.
