BATTICALOA : ONE CLAYMORE MINE, a flexible wire roll, two anti personnel mines, two hand grenades, one claymore stand and several other warlike items, believed to have been left behind by some Tiger terrorists who might be mingling with civilians in SERIYATHIVU in BATTICALOA were recovered this afternoon (8) at about 1.30 p.m.
Troops on a search and clear operation in the area have spotted some suspicious elements ahead of them and tried to approach them but they vanished into SERIYATHIVU lagoon area in the company of some fishermen present at the scene.
However, troops pursued them and recovered those items on the way.
