Director General Overseas Operations Learns about IPSOTSL Roles

Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Director General Overseas Operations made a formal visit to the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) on 12 August 2020 as part of his familiarization visits. On arrival at the IPSOTSL, the Director General Overseas Operations, was honoured in a ceremonial Guard Turnout and received by the Commandant, Brigadier Shantha Ranaweera.

A brief presentation on training, administrative, operational and logistics aspects of the IPSOTSL, conducted by Brigadier Shantha Ranaweera, Commandant provided him with an overall picture of its operations. The visiting Director-General Overseas Operations was also invited to plant a sapling in the premises to mark his visit to the venue.

Afterwards, he was invited to open the newly-constructed cafeteria, the ‘Peace Cafe’ for All Ranks at the IPSOTSL, built by own troops using local resources. The Director General Overseas Operations Training unveiled a plaque to symbolize the official opening and joined All Ranks for refreshments.

During his address to the IPSOTSL troops, he emphasized the importance of performing assigned duties with dedication and commitment and promotion of their professional skills through the constant training as soldiers in accordance with multple peacekeeping assignments. He also had a visit around the camp premises before he sat for a lunch treat at the Officers’ Mess.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Institute and a few other Senior Staff Officers of the Directorate of Overseas Operations also joined the day's itinerary. Nike Sneakers | Sneakers
