More than 58 children, resident in the Iniyavallu Illam House for Deaf, Dumb and Blind in Vallipunam village, were treated to a sumptuous luncheon by troops of the 68 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu with the motive of improving common ties and spirits of reconciliation between the troops and the common masses.
Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 68 Division taking a personal interest in the project took time off on July 4 to spend a couple of hours with those inmates during the treat and afterwards. Those children with different skills presented their artistic flavour by drawing arts and showing their handcrafts, etc to the officers and soldiers present at the venue.
Those inmates, together with their caretakers had a full day of enjoyment and the administrators were thankful to the troops for their moral encouragement and compliments.
