DGGS in Mullaittivu Meets Senior Officers & Commanding Officers

Major General Nishantha Manage, Director General General Staff (DGGS) continuing his visit to the North-based security establishments arrived at the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaitivu (SFHQ - MLT) on Wednesday (Jan 25) to be warmly welcomed by Major General Darshana Wijesekara, Commander, SF - MLT after he was greeted with a drive past Guard Turnout at the entrance.

Afterwards, the DGGS attended a discussion with Commander, SF - MLT, together with Major General Chandimal Peiris, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 57 Infantry Division, Major General Mahinda Ranasinghe, GOC, 59 Infantry Division, Major General Nissanka Eriyagama, GOC, 64 Infantry Division, Brigadier Nalin Jayawardene, GOC, 66 Infantry Division, Major General Rohan Ponnamperuma, GOC, 68 Infantry Division, Major General Anil Ilangakoon, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (MLT), and the Staff Officers at the SFHQ - MLT where all matters related to the administration and operational matters were taken up for review and discussion.

As part of the programme, he visited the Battalion Training School, Nandikal functional under the 59 Infantry Division and interacted with the trainees of 9 Sri Lanka National Guard. Later, he visited the 3 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment camp and the 68 Infantry Division HQ.

Towards the culmination of the series of events, the Commander, SF - MLT presented a special memento to the visiting senior officer. He also left some compliments in the visitors’ book, prior to his departure. On Tuesday (24), he called at the Security Force HQ-Jaffna and met all senior officers for same above purpose.
