Major General Nishantha Manage, Director General General Staff (DGGS) with the objective of receiving updates on the operational, training and administrative aspects of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, (SFHQ-J) arrived at the Headquarters on Tuesday (24).
He was received by Major General Swarna Bothota, Commander, SF-J on arrival at the Headquarters premises after a drive past Guard Turnout saluted the day’s visitor.
Afterwards, the visiting DGGS had a discussion with Major General Swarna Bothota, Commander, SF - J, Major General Vajira Welagedara, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 51 Infantry Division, Major General Sanjeewa Fernando, GOC, 52 Infantry Division, Brigadier Clifford De Soyza, Commander Forward Maintenance Area - North, Brigadier Dhammika Karunapala, Brigadier General Staff, SF - J, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, SF - J Brigadier Anura Bandara, Brigade Commanders, Brigadier Coord (Volunteer), Brigadier Janith Bandara, Commanding Officers of affiliated Battalions and Senior Officers serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna.
Respective Senior Officers of each military establishment presented relative concerns to the DGGS in turn before discussions focused on resolution of their concerns. The DGGS also shared views and recommended relevant concerns in order to find solutions.
Later, the DGGS visited several Army establishments including, the Battalion Training School, Vidaththalpalai and 12 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Aiyakachchi.
Towards the end of the itinerary Jaffna Commander on behalf of the SFHQ-J presented a symbolic memento to the day’s Chief Guest and appreciated his presence in Jaffna in order to meet the troops and receive updates. He also signed the Visitor’s Book marking the visit to the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna.
