DGGS at AWC Speaks about ' Pathway to a Successful Military Career'

The Buttala Army War College (AWC) student officers recently had the rare opportunity of listening to a highly informative, thematic and career-oriented lecture, delivered by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff (DGGS) of the Army on 'Pathway to a Successful Military Career' as a component of the second trimester-2023 'Diner's Club' session.

The lecturer who attended the occasion as the Chief Guest during the session entertained Student Officers' questions during the presentation of materials and encouraged the attendees to interact with him for clarifications and explanations.

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc was warmly welcomed by the AWC Commandant, Brigadier U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc on arrival and invited to receive the salute of the Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the War College. The Senior Officer afterwards sat for a group photo on invitation and added memories by planting a sapling in front of the AWC main auditorium. After a brief visit inside the compound, he shared views with AWC Commandant and Senior Officers in order to inquire about administrative matters of this prestigious seat of learning.

A total of 150 participants including Senior Officers and Officers actively took part in the programme. The day's speaker shared his expertise, knowledge and experience on the subject and highlighted the challenges, being faced by Army Officers in the new millennium.
