Deputy Ambassador of Netherlands Enhances Bilateral Ties during Courtesy Visit to Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna

His Excellency Iwan Rutjens, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka paid a courtesy visit to the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ - J) on Wednesday (07 Feb).

The visiting Deputy Ambassador was warmly welcomed by the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF - J), Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, upon arrival at the office.

During the cordial meeting, the Commander, SF - J and the Deputy Ambassador exchanged views on the importance of strengthening the relationship and military diplomacy to enhance the bond between the two nations. Further, the discussion encompassed civil-military cooperation, social welfare projects, development assistance and the reconciliation process in the Jaffna area.

His Excellency Iwan Rutjens signed the Visitors’ Book, marking the significance of the visit to the SFHQ – J. An exchange of mementos culminated the day’s event. Several Senior Officers and Mr. Namal Perera, Senior Policy Advisor on Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Sri Lanka, took part in the cordial interaction.
