681 Brigade of the 68 Division under the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with the objective of providing dental care, conducted a mobile dental clinic at Mullivaikkal West High School for the benefit of students in the area.
The dental clinic saw a total of 350 students receive dental care consultations and listen to a lecture on oral health during the arrangement.
A group of seven medical officials, including Dr Sakunthala Gunawardane and Dr Iliwel, sponsored by Colombo Pragna Pradhana organization examined the students and recommended necessary consultations.
Similarly, with the coordination of the 681 Brigade, a stock of sport items such as volleyballs, footballs, cricket bats and balls, nets, shoes, etc was distributed among sports clubs in the area. The two-day (Dec 4 & 5) programmes also saw distribution of toothpaste and tooth brushes.
Programmes were inaugurated by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division as the Chief Guest, together with senior officers including 681 and 682 Brigade Commanders.
Principals, teachers and parents also supported the arrangement.
