The 144 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ-West, initiated a specialized Dengue Prevention programme in Gotatuwa, Kotikawththa, and Mulleriyawa MOH areas on November 11, 2023 to mitigate the risk of a potential Dengue epidemic outbreak
Fifteen Army groups of the 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, in collaboration with 10 Public Health Inspectors and health employees from Gothatuwa, actively participated in the project. As a result, approximately 150 houses were inspected, and immediate measures were implemented to eradicate Dengue mosquito breeding sites.
The Commander of the Security Force Headquarters West, the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, and the Brigade Commander of the 144 Infantry Brigade provided essential guidance to ensure the success of the event.
