Delegation of Pakistan Joint Staff Headquarters Visits Army Headquarters

A delegation of the Joint Staff Headquarters of Pakistan during their tour in Sri Lanka arrived at the Army Headquarters on 29 April 2024 at the invitation of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army.

The four-member delegation comprised with Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M), Director General, Joint Staff and three other Senior Officers.

On their arrival, Adjutant General of the Army, Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, warmly welcomed the delegation and ushered them to the Commander's office.

In a cordial and interactive meeting characterised by professionalism and mutual respect, both parties exchanged views on matters of shared interest and concern. Recognising the longstanding bonds of goodwill between the Armed Forces of both countries, Director General, Joint Staff and the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army delved into a comprehensive dialogue aimed at furthering bilateral cooperation and understanding.

Additionally, the Commander of the Army addressed training-related concerns, reflecting on prior assistance rendered in training Sri Lanka Army personnel. This support has played a pivotal role in enhancing the competencies of Sri Lankan Army Officers and Other Ranks, thereby nurturing a culture of military professionalism. Furthermore, the Army Chief expressed gratitude for the generous contributions from Pakistan, which have significantly supported the transformation efforts within the Sri Lanka Army, driving it towards greater versatility and proficiency.

Towards the end, mementoes were exchanged between both parties as symbols of goodwill. Prior to his departure, Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M) left some complimentary remarks in the visitors' book.
