A group of India-based Defence Attaches who took part in the recently-concluded ‘Defence Seminar - 2013’ as part of their familiarization programme in Sri Lanka went to Wanni on Saturday (7) and met a cross section of senior officers before visiting Poonthottam Rehabilitation Centre for ex-combatants.
The team, comprised of Defence Attachés from Nigeria, South Korea, Singapore and Switzerland received a comprehensive report on the rehabilitation process and had the privilege of closely interacting with the rehabilitees for some time.
Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), Brigadier M.A.M. Dias, 54 Division and several other senior officers in Wanni were associated with the conduct of the tour for them.
The same delegation went Kilinochchi on 11th September and held discussion with Commander, SFHQ-KLN on matter of mutual interest.
