Death Toll Rises to 124 - NOCPCO

As of this morning (12), a total of 2,987 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 97 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,890 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 468 from Kalutara District, 310 from Colombo District, 269 from Galle District and 1,843 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (12), a total of 342,078 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 230,841 were reported after the New Year.

By Thursday (12) morning (past 24 hours), 2,244 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. On 10 August, 124 more deaths have been reported including 75 males and 49 females.

As of Thursday (12), 4,878 persons in 67 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. On Thursday (12) morning, 541 persons left 17 QCs after completion of their quarantining process.
