De-mining Team Unearths Human Skeleton &;amp; LTTE T-56 Magazines

NORTH: A FOREIGN de-mining team engaged in de-mining work in the general area of PHALLAKKULI, MANNAR on Wednesday (19) unearthed one human skeleton, one pouch and four T-56 magazines, suspected to have belonged to LTTE and one LTTE uniform while they were engaged in de-mining works.

     Meanwhile, troops on search and clear operations in the general area of PUTHUKUDIYIRUPPU on Wednesday (19) recovered one Global Positioning System  (GPS), one I-com set, two pistol magazines, two hand grenades, two Arul bombs, five hundred rounds of General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, fourteen explosive chargers weighing about 1 kg each,  one hundred and ninety-four anti personnel mines, five rounds of Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), two T-56 magazines, nineteen 81 mm mortar bombs, one hundred and fifty rounds of T-56 ammunition, a stock of T-56 spare parts  and  four thousand and eight hundred shotgun cartridges.
