Major General K.A.W.S Ratnayake ndu, Chief Signal Officer (CSO) of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) paid his maiden visit to the 9 SLSC camp in Iranamadu on Tuesday (June 13).
He was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel B.M.M.B Herath RSP USP, Commanding Officer (CO) of 9 SLSC and accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance as a formal military tradition.
According to the agenda, he planted a Mango sapling in the camp premises to mark his visit, followed by a group photograph with all the staff of the 9 SLSC. Afterwards, he addressed the troops in the compound where he was awarded a special memento by the CO of 9 SLSC as a token of goodwill and appreciation.
Afterwards, he interacted with the troops during an All Rank tea before he made a field visit inside the camp compound. Afterwards, CO and Officers briefed the CSO on the status quo as regards its administration and communication needs of the unit.
