Cricket Tournament Held to Promote Goodwill

Following an initiative taken by 611 Brigade Headquarters, in close liaison with the 61 Division, a friendly cricket tournament plus a training workshop for cricket enthusiasts took place at Nakiyankulam Al Arfath school ground on Sunday (27).

The tournament, patronized by Citizen Initiative (Pvt) Company Ltd received supervisory support of the Sri Lanka Cricket Control Board and a match was played between Sirattikulam Tamil Maha Vidyalaya and Nakiyankulam Al Arfath school cricket teams.

Mr. Ravindra Kumar, together with a team of cricket coaches from the Sri Lanka Cricket Control Board assisted those cricket lovers, most of who are students of three major ethnicities.

Brigadier A Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, Brigadier K.G.D Perera, Commander, 611 Brigade Headquarters, Colonel K.A.N.S Kotuwegoda, Commander, 612 Brigade Headquarters, representatives of the Citizen Initiative (Pvt) Company Ltd and several other administrators in the area witnessed the entire training programme and the cricket tournament.
