Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, participated in the preliminary conference for the National Vesak Festival 2024 on 07 May 2024 at Dharmaraja Viharaya in Matale.
Governor of the Central Province, Mr. Lalith U Gamage chaired the meeting, focusing on the planning required for the upcoming festival, scheduled to be held from 23 to 30 May 2024. Key topics included the vital role of the Sri Lanka Army in providing logistic support, ensuring security arrangements and implementing proactive measures to guarantee the festival's smooth operation.
Government officials, members of Maha Sangha and Senior Officers participated in the conference.
