Enthusiastic Army troops of the 651 infantry Brigade of the 65 Infantry Division supplied free corriander drinks with jaggery in a special ‘Dansela’ held in Wellankulam area on account of ‘Vesak’.
Following the guidelines given by Major General E.A.D.P Edirisinghe psc, the General Officer Commanding 65 infantry Division, troops under the close supervision of Brigadier K.M.W. Bandara RSP, Commander of the 651 Infantry Brigade and with 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops conducted this herbal drink treat from 1600 hours to 1900 hours on Friday (5).
Nearly 500 civilians enjoyed the Army hospitality during this programme.
17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops in Thunukkai area meanwhile organized another free eatery where Milk Coffee and Buns were served on account of ‘Vesak’.
More than 600 residents in aforesaid areas enjoyed the treat.
