The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers bid a heartfelt farewell to Major General P.P.A Perera Hdmc psc, with military honours and greetings on 15 July 2024, marking the conclusion of his distinguished military service spanning over 34 years in the Sri Lanka Army.
The day's proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout and a colourful Guard of Honour at the Regimental Parade Ground, followed by an invitation extended to the retiring Senior Officer and his family to the office by the Director General Financial Management and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc.
As part of the farewell formalities, a convivial tea party was arranged at the Regimental Officers' Mess, attended by Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps. Additionally, a farewell Dinner Night, graced by Sapper Officers and their spouses, was hosted in honour of the retiring Senior Officer.
During the dinner, the Colonel Commandant delivered the farewell note, expressing deep gratitude for Major General P.P.A Perera's exemplary service. In response, Major General Perera extended his appreciation to the Colonel Commandant and all ranks of the Corps for their unwavering support throughout his tenure in the Sri Lanka Army.
