Cornerstone Laid for One More New House for another Needy Family

The foundation stone-laying for construction of one more new house for a needy family living in Thusithapura, Bakmeegama in the East was held on Thursday (22) during a simple ceremony, adhering to health formalities.

This programme was organized by the troops of 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on the instructions and supervision of Major General Samantha Silva, General Officer Commanding 22 Division and Brigadier Priyantha Kariyawasam, Commander 221 Brigade. Generous donors living in Australia including Mr Nihal Suriyage, Mr Damith Kahawe and Mr Saman Marasinghe have promised the financial sponsorship for those constructions, to be done by Army troops.

Commander 221 Brigade graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Lieutenant Colonel R. Hasantha, Commanding Officer of 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Other Ranks and the beneficiary were present during the inaugural ceremony.
