The foundation-laying ceremony for the proposed cultural and vocational training centre at Kanagarayankulam area under 56 Division took place recently.
A charity organization from Germany has offered its sponsorship for the construction and commencement of the ceremony began after the traditional oil lamp was lit. Religious rites and rituals blessed the project.
Ms Usula Bayer, a representative from the German organization, Major General A.K.S Perera, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni, Brigadier N.A.P.C Napagoda, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division and Brigadier D.A.R Ranawaka, 561 Brigade Commander laid the foundation stone and inaugurated the construction work.
Several Army officers and civilians were present at the inaugural ceremony.
