The Sri Lanka Air Force is making arrangements to hold the 'Air Force Tattoo' from 06 to 10 March 2024 at Muttraweli Ground, Jaffna, to mark the 73rd Air Force Anniversary. This grand event will showcase a wide array of exhibitions covering military aviation, engineering, disaster management, airborne adventures, and public entertainment.
With expectations of a significant turnout from the general public, meticulous planning is underway. A coordinating conference, presided over by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), was held at Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on 5 March. Senior Officers from the 51 Infantry Division, along with the Director General of Aeronautical Engineering of the Air Force and respective Air Force Officers, as well as the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Jaffna and Police Officers, participated in the conference. Following the conference, a field visit to the venue was conducted to ensure seamless arrangements for the civilian community attending the event.
In readiness for any unforeseen circumstances, the Commander, Security Forces- Jaffna highlighted the deployment of Army troops, if necessary, to guarantee the event's success. The meeting concluded with a briefing on the intelligence situation in Jaffna, ensuring a safe and successful Air Force Tattoo.
